if you mention a specific destination (California) and a specific event (The Exhibition) in the final chapter, you are making a promise to the reader.
If the story ends here, that line is just dead weight.
Such a pathetic ending.i feel sick while watching them and….my shayla joseph i hope u will be more happier than ever..but im sure he is gonna be happier then be w him and it was such u friking disgusting ending.i just read it for joseph really..ugh
they set this whole story up for jo and ian, but then he chooses tj? nah, atp end this and give me a jo happy ending with someone else… a groveling remorse arc wont do it for me anymore
They did not set this up for Jo and Ian. You must’ve been reading a different story, tj was always endgame, Jo was just a small chapter in Ian’s life compared to the history he had with tj. This was the best outcome for everyone.
Im so happy for TJ and Ian they deserve happiness after all the crap they went through since childhood. They share so much history and practically grew up together in the same environment. Bonds like that are not that easy to break.
if yall still blaming tj or ian or even the CREATOR doyak and think the ending is bad because jo should be the EG, yall not seeing on ian perspective. ian loves tj deeply, but that doesnt mean that he doesnt love jo, their relationship is different. ian loves jo that deeply, even if theres jo who loves ian like ian loves jo, ian is still choosing tj. because their bond is so strong, 20+ years ian and tj been up and down together, compares with jo who only know ian for several years.
jo’s defender are so toxic and selfish like guys calm down???
It’s funny because they hate Taejoon for being toxic but they’re out here wishing the worst for Ian and Doyak. I mean, sure, they’re not out here accidentally breaking people’s legs but c’mon guys. It’s not that Jo wasn’t a good fit for Ian, it’s just that there were too many confounding factors in the relationship and more history/rapport with Taejoon.
And the big thing people are forgetting that Ian literally pointed out is that Jo nearly killed a guy for him. Jo grew up in a normal, upper middle class family. And he nearly KILLED a guy. Jo definitely helped Ian grow and heal, but Ian was also bringing Jo down a little just by association.
Ian and Taejoon’s lives are peaceful now but they’re still ex gang members and that life will always follow them. But at least they have each other to deal with it and are in a better place to deal with their past and negative thoughts.
Plus they’re both codependent AF. I personally preferred Taejoon because I’m a sucker for childhood friends and trauma bonds (and Ian ending up with Jo would mean Taejoon would be left alone as all the people in his life see him more as a boss than an equal). But I really wouldn’t be as angry as some of the comments I’ve seen. But, Wet Sand was my first BL and the first romance-focused story (I actually HATE romance for the sake of romance) I followed so maybe I’m just not the type to get all feral about this type of stuff.
Ending WAS rushed though, and I felt parts of it weren’t tied up.
Right, just everyone loves everyone at this point hahaha it’s ok I made peace with this ending, I understand Ian loves who he loves, and the heart wants what it wants, but it was unnecessary to show Joe staring at the apartment and photo 😭
