This is actually so original? And the authors executed their ideas so well too. The characters and their interactions all have approrpriate depths, making this a light read but also not undermining the plot with shallowness.
What gets me is how they present women’s empowerment. In such type of stories, it is easy to end up pushing superficial ideals, taking a subjective view on the matter. But not only this manga managed to potrayed both the entrenched discrimination towards women (true to their era this work is based on/inspired by) and the resilience agaisnt sexism (shown by the MC AND her supporters), it is also realistic in its approach to empowerment attempts. The MC can only achieve such feat, despite social objection, with REAL time, hard work and it’s important to noted, her privillages as an aristocrat with an encouraging environment (supportive family and allies).
Overall great read.
